Referral: Yes, they were Spectre (Din Jarin's Player) and Moose (Cobb Vanth's player).
IN-CHARACTER:
Character name: Alberto Scorfano
Character journal:
silenziobruno
Series name: Luca, a Pixar's movie.
Canon notes: The end of the movie.
Species: Sea monster
Age: Around 14 years old.
Arrival Condition: He's pretty healthy and uninjured.
History: Here in the official wiki.
Personality:
First and foremost, Alberto comes off as confident, brash, and energetic, in the way only 14 years olds who believe themselves unstoppable can be. By the start of the movie, he's been on his own for a long while and has discovered and taught everything himself rather than having someone to guide him properly through life. Because of that, he's also hardly always correct in his beliefs and knowledge about the human world.
He's friendly and sweet, the kind of person who jumps with both feet into any situation, and doesn't complain about hard work. What he lacks in smarts and table manners, he makes up in enthusiasm and willingness to learn. He's also overconfident, fearless to a dangerous degree, prone to picking fights, and has little to no impulse control.
While he's generally open, protective, and friendly, always willing to have fun or help Luca discover what the surface has to offer, he also suppresses his more negative emotions. He puts on such a brave face, acts like he’s some kind of human expert, and has the adopted mantra of “Silenzio, Bruno!” every time he doubts himself.
After they met Giulia, she and Luca got along quickly, and Alberto and Luca's shared dreams - running away together on a Vespa, leaving everyone else behind- started to misalign. Alberto became pushier, jealous, and possessive. Now he had a friend but it looked like Luca was going to abandon him again, just like his father did. His fears came true when he showed his real form to Giulia at the beach, trying to prove a point to Luca about how they didn't fit in the human world, prompting Luca to throw him under the bus to protect his own identity. Whether or not Luca's reaction was justified, it convinced Alberto that he truly wasn't good enough for his friend.
Even at his angriest and hurt because of Luca's reaction, Alberto didn't try to out him or even drag Luca into the water. He's caring and protective even when he's hurt or in danger, partially too because he doesn't believe he is worth as much as others. Alberto has been shaped by his father's abandonment, the solitude that followed, and his loneliness. It took a toll on his idea of self-worth, obvious in the tower scene where Alberto tells Luca that he's not 'a good kid' like his friend and that his father and Luca are better off without him because he's just 'the kid who ruins everything', a burden.
They don't go away completely, but he overcomes those fears eventually, doing his best to help Luca reach his dream and put his friend's happiness before his own: selling the Vespa they won, talking to Luca's parents, so they allow him to go to school, buying him a train ticket... He puts his faith in Luca, trusting that he won't abandon him, and learns to really on other people.
Abilities: He turns human when dry and keeps his sea creature appearance when touched by any kind of liquid (rain, saltwater, etc). As a sea creature he has the same abilities as a siren/mermaid: can breathe underwater, can swim really fast and is not affected by deep sea pressure. Sea monster's eyes also shine/reflect light in the dark.
Personal Item: The gramophone he steals at the beginning of the movie from a couple of sailors.
